Experienced Stockman

Moon Lake Investments is a progressive dairy farming business in North West Tasmania. The Company owns 25 dairy farms plus an extensive dairy support and heifer raising operation, with a Head Office in Smithton. The Dairy Support property rears up to 12,000 Heifers and graze up to 3,000 wintering cows on 5,000 Ha. We also produce a large amount of the supplement in the form of silage and hay to the company’s dairy farms.

We are seeking an experienced stockman to join our dynamic team at the Dairy Support Unit. This is a permanent long term position and would suit someone looking for stability and the opportunity to develop and progress within the Company and the dairy industry.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Have excellent pasture management skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Proven livestock handling skills
  • Able to operate farming equipment including ATV’s
  • Hardworking, honest and reliable
  • General farm duties
  • Needs to provide own working dogs
  • A willingness to achieve industry best-practice in the areas of Work Health & Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Standards
  • Must hold a current drivers licence
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Medical and Criminal History Check

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package based on the candidate’s skills and experience in line with the Pastoral Award 2010. Families are welcome and the school bus is only a short drive from the accommodation. Dairy Farm Hands

Moon Lake Investments, trading as VDL Farms, is a progressive farming operation in North West Tasmania. We are seeking a permanent full-time dairy farm hand to join our team in the Circular Head area.

The person we are seeking will want to be part of a dynamic team, be willing to work on a rotational roster, be flexible and positive. Experience is preferred; however, we offer ongoing training and development, so if you want to make a career in Dairy Farming then we would be happy to consider your application.

This is a permanent long-term position and would suit someone looking for stability and the opportunity to develop and progress within the Company and the dairy industry. To be eligible, candidates must hold a current Driver’s License and have their own reliable transport. Candidates must also have the current rights to work in Australia for a period of not less than 2 years.

Casual & Experienced

Casual On-call Dairy Farm Hands

Moon Lake Investments is a progressive farming operation in the Circular Head area. We are seeking experienced dairy farm hands to join our on-call casual pool. The candidates we are seeking should live locally in the community, be flexible and positive and have a minimum of 6 months milking experience. Candidates must have a current Driver’s License and their own reliable transport. Candidates must also have the current rights to work in Australia for a period of not less than 12 months.

If you want the flexibility of picking your own shifts upon your availability then this may be the position for you. As a casual employee you will have no guaranteed hours of work and are only required on a needs basis. Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s skills and experience in line with the Pastoral Award 2010.
